Vape Pens
With the colder temps, people who like to smoke often look for alternative ways to consume so as not to face the weather (or at least limit the time they do so!) Vapes work extremely well for this purpose. Many people and places still allow vaping indoors while smoking is strictly prohibited in those same places. If you are a traditional herb smoker, a good vape can save you a lot of headaches. There is no need fight your lighter against the elements, many places can’t distinguish between an herb and nicotine vape allowing you to fly under the radar inside, and if you must go outside, it takes fewer pulls off a concentrate vape to get the desired effects, limiting your time shivering. Unfortunately, our vapes are only available in-store but you can check out the smokables page to get an idea of products and pricing. It is always a good idea to call ahead to check availability of certain strains as they rotate often!
Mini Pre-Roll Packs
Mini pre-roll packs, often referred to as “dog walkers”, are packs of joints ranging from .35g-.5g joints. Our .35g packs come with 8 in a pack for 2.8g total and our .5g packs come 6 per pack for an even 3g. These minis are perfect for limiting time outdoors and preventing illness as they are meant for a single person. The great thing is they come in packs so you can just give one to a friend for the holiday spirit and avoid exchanging the common cold & more. These products are also only available in-store but can also be found on our smokables page!
A Bud Vase
Bud Vases are esthetically pleasing and functional! When not in use, the vase looks like a wonderful piece of flower glass art but can be quickly adapted to make it a bong like you’ve never hit before. These beauties hide in plain sight and often go unnoticed. They make for a great gift for the cannaconsumer in your life or for a gift for yourself after completing all your holiday shopping. These are only available in store so stop in and say high to our budtenders are ask them to show you one.

Most people have a dream smoke spot but one of the most elusive has to be The White House. It is possibly the most protected place on the planet, yet tales of toking on the property have come up multiple times. RiverBluff Collective rummaged through those stories to find the most legendary and noteworthy, the most obvious, and the most peculiar. No matter where your dream spot is to smoke, it is attainable because of these stories. No place is out of reach if you put your mind to it! Kick back in the cut, fire one up, and let’s learn about some legendary weed stuff.
Willie Nelson
The most known face in cannabis history hands down! Stories of his tour buses getting raided became comic fodder in the 1990s. Celebrities and politicians alike love him. Songs have been written about smoking with like I’ll Never Smoke Weed with Willie Again! By Scott Emerick and the late Tobey Keith. Stories of Willie Nelson enjoying a good high are widely known but none more so than his trip to The White House roof. Willie told a story about how he and one of The White House staff went onto the roof and smoked a joint. It became the myth of legend but was recently confirmed by the most credible source possible, Jimmy Carter! In a documentary titled Jimmy Carter: Rock & Roll President “When Willie Nelson wrote his autobiography, he proclaimed that he smoked pot in the White House one night when he was spending the night with me, and he says that his companion that shared the pot with him was one of the servants in the White House. That is not exactly true — it actually was one of my sons, which he didn’t want to categorize as a pot-smoker like him.” In the late 1970s the stigma was still very real, and Willie didn’t want to have Chip Carter’s life held back if people knew so he lied.
Snoop Dogg
Possibly the second most recognized toker of all time, Snoop was bound to be on this list. The slick rap icon is well known for his advocacy for the plant. Heather B from SiriusXM interviewed Snoop in 2016 and asked, “Where is the ‘one place’ he’d always wanted to smoke but never thought he’d get the chance?” Snoop quickly replied, “The White House.” Snoop was then pressed for further details and was eager to tell the story stating, “So we at the White House, you understand me, for a celebration or what not, for Herbie Hancock. So, we had a little dinner and I’m like, ‘where the bathroom at?’ they like,‘It’s over there’. So, I’m like, ‘Alright cool’. Slide over to the bathroom. I look around, check the surroundings, make sure there ain’t no CIA around. Light up some tissue, just to see if anything gonna happen, tissue works. Boom. Next thing I do is pull that thing out of my sock.” He then went on to smoke until he heard someone coming his way. Stories like this make Snoop the legend he is!
JFK
This one may be obvious or completely blindsiding. John Fitzgerald Kennedy is revered by many and hated by others. He was a war hero but also a serial philanderer. His tragic assassination has left history one of the greatest what ifs in American history. During his extramarital affairs he entered a sexual relationship with American socialite Mary Meyer, the ex-wife of a top CIA agent and close friend to Jackie Kennedy. In the summer of 1962, JFK “joked” about wanting to smoke some pot. Meyer is believed to have obtained the pot from Washinton Post executive Jim Truitt. She brought 6 joints, and the president smoked three of them claiming he didn’t feel anything. He then closed his eyes, refused a fourth, and realized he was HAF, to use the parlance of our times. Now stoned, the president allegedly babbled in a concerned manner, “Imagine if the Russians tried something now.” He then supposedly stated to Mary, “This pot isn’t like cocaine. I’ll get you some cocaine.” For a guy who was a hero in the Navy, he missed the boat on that one.

Scary Movies are a staple of the Halloween season and cannabis and hemp consumption comes with an untimely demise is a trope audience members wait for. Still, there are exceptions where the adult use cannabis consumer is the hero and others that are just fun to get blazed and giggle to. Cannabis, candy, and scary movies make great company as the season begins to change. The jump scares, yelling don’t go in there at the TV and laughing at all the in-jokes help remind us we are curious and still alive. In honor of Halloween, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorites for you. So, kick back in the cut, fire one up and let’s learn about some scary movies weed stuff.
WARNING: If you haven’t seen these movies yet, stoner spoilers are ahead!
The one that started it all! The franchise started in 1980 and by the third installment we saw our first cannabis user, Chuck, brutally murdered by the hulking villain, Jason Voorhees. Chuck stoned to the bone on some 80s swag gets curious as the power fails. He goes to the basement to check the fuse box and finds the masked man waiting and was electrocuted shortly thereafter. Chuck was the first of us to get killed but not the last. The Friday the 13th Franchise set in place many of the rules that would be discussed in our next entry.
Brought to us by one of the masters of the genre, Wes Craven, the original movie is a handbook on how to survive a horror movie. Randy the movie buff of the group lays out at a party. Though Randy never smokes cannabis on screen it is heavily implied that he partakes. His rules are as follows:
1. Never have sex!
2. Never drink or do drugs!
3. Never say you’ll be right back!
Ghostface makes sure that all those rules were proven true in the first movie. This was really the first horror movie to blend comedy and scary together that appealed to stoners in a major way and birthed an entirely new franchise that would further poke fun at the genre.
The franchise on this list with the least scary moments and the most stoner moments. A horror parody series that held back no punches and took shots at every serious horror film. The most notable scene comes from the first movie when Ghostface, yes same Ghostface, smokies a blunt with Shorty Meeks, played by Marlon Wayans. The two break out into a rap that will be remembered by its fans forever. The franchise took shots at everything that is and was pop culture, nothing was safe, and it was parody at its best which led to a flood of other parody movies.
The Cabin in the Woods broke the fourth wall in ways never done before. The movie revolves around a typical group of college kids you’d find in a horror movie, fully equipped with their own wise stoner Marty. The group was unknowingly taking part in an ancient group of blood rituals needed to save the world. In the end, Marty becomes the most heroic character and keep in mind Chris Hemsworth was also in this movie. If Marty was successful or failed is a matter of debate but what isn’t is that he broke the trope that stoners were easy prey!
This underground cult classic is a must see. No need to break the fourth wall if there are no walls. This mocumentary follows a man known as Leslie Vernon as documentary crew follows him around preparing for his burst into the hall of greats with Micheal, Freddy, and Jason. It only has one scene where cannabis is smoked, and Leslie calls them easy prey because they have no stamina or cardio. It includes cameos of some of horror’s all-time greats in new roles and pays homage to the films that came before it. It is cleverly written, quirky and funny, and filled with plot twists. No one knows about this movie. Tell everyone about it!

Summer is ending, the leaves will soon be changing color, but we still have one more summer holiday to celebrate, Labor Day! The true last big party weekend of the summer, Labor Day, has an old and fascinating history that deserves to be learned about and celebrated and RiverBluff Collective wants you to celebrate and learn with us. Get ready to learn more about Labor Day and some fun hemp-derived THC products to help you celebrate. Kick back in the cut, fire one up, and let’s learn about some Labor Day stuff!
Origin of Labor Day
In the late 1800’s with the rise of unions and the labor movements of the time, the leaders of these groups took inspiration for days celebrating labor in Canada and began celebrating various labor days around the country. Most historians trace Labor Day back to September of 1882; however, two men sharing similar names and jobs are often credited with its invention. The most commonly accepted origin of the holiday is accredited to Matthew Maguire, secretary of the Central Labor Union of New York. The other accepted origin of Labor Day is accredited to Peter J. McGuire, the president of the American Federation of Labor. Regardless of who originated the holiday, its intentions didn’t vary. Labor Day is meant to celebrate the hard work people put in over the year and spend some extra time with family and friends. In its early days, unions and companies would throw picnics for workers and families to enjoy and relax.
When Labor Day Became a Recognized Holiday
Oregon became the first state to recognize Labor Day as a holiday in 1887. By 1894, a majority of states had adopted Labor Day. In that same year Congress passed legislation to make Labor Day an official federal holiday and it was signed into law by President Grover Clevland. This was a first step but not in the right direction as the holiday only applied to federal workers and alienated the workers who had fought for it. That alienation led to continued strikes into the 1930’s, until all workers were allowed the day off or holiday pay when Labor Day was changed from a federal holiday to a statutory holiday by the individual states.
Products to Enjoy on Labor Day
Let’s build a RiverBluff Collective picnic basket in honor of the early labor days! They say don’t wear white after Labor Day, but they didn’t say anything about white chocolate. Look at RiverBluff Collective’s Cookies and Cream or French Toast bars. These chocolate bars are great for incognito consumption if at an event! What would Labor Day be without a drink or two? Not everyone is a fan of alcohol, so RiverBluff Collective offers a variety of drinks. For those looking for something light they have their 4mg THC hemp-infused seltzers in three crips flavors, Strawberry Acai Lemonade, Pineapple, and Lemon. Mochi Berry is one of the most sought-after strains carried at RiverBluff Collective. The five tool strain that every cannaconsumer raves about has a mysterious origin story with no one claiming to be the first breeder. Still, it has risen in infamy for its potency, bag appeal, versatility, taste and aroma. It is a heavy hitter with knock out power and the endurance to go the distance. So, let’s look at the legend of the stain known as Mochi Berry! Kick back in the cut, fire one up, and let’s learn about some weed stuff.
The Lineage
Though no one has stepped up to claim to have bred Mochi Berry first, the stain has curiously been traced back to its notable parent plants. The offspring of Sunset Sherbert an indica dominant hybrid and Mochi Gelato a balanced hybrid, Mochi Berry has far surpassed its parents becoming more than just notable but legendary! Anyone who has tried it can testify to its legendary status.
The Basics
Though listed as an indica hybrid, Mochi Berry is closer to balanced than indica dominant at a 60/40 indica/sativa. Though its normally high testing amount of THCa totals can make one feel extra stoney for both moderate and limited consumers. For longtime smokers it hits more balanced than anything but still can be devastatingly potent! The buds are as dense as a rock but grind easily.
The Aroma and Taste
Mochi Berry retains all the flavor of its parent plants. It is creamy, sweet, and a combination of citrus and berry that leaves you delightfully dazed with a smile on your face. On exhale it smells just as sweet. In the bag, Mochi Berry smells like sugared berries with a touch of cider. Mochi Berry just isn’t a strain, it is an experience that shouldn’t be missed!
Effects
Mochi Berry is known for its blissful body high and inspirational spark. Though it is nearly balanced, it still leans indica and has effects associated with indica flower.
Relaxation
Stress relief
Help with sleep
Calming sensations
Should You Try It?
This a YES! There is a reason that Mochi Berry has been the longest running strain at RiverBluff Collective. People love it. Sativa lovers appreciate the creativity it provides and indica lovers love it because it does everything an indica should do and then some. It is potent, flavorful, and should not be missed. If you haven’t tried it yet, now would be the time. Though we don’t have it on our website, you can stop into our East Dubuque, IL location and grab a pre-roll today. Summertime has kicked into full gear, and RiverBluff Collective wants to help you make the most of your time in the warm weather while it lasts. What better way to smoke on the move than the good old fashioned joint or cannabis pre-roll, as they are now called? Pre-rolls are concealable, easily portable, single use and more eco-friendly than anything battery operated. The classics become classics for a reason! When you’re on the move and looking for a goodtime, RiverBluff Collective has all your cannabis needs (and even some stellar tips on where to enjoy them!) So, kick back in the cut, fire one up, and let’s learn about some fun things to do while high on weed.
Hiking
This one may be cliche but remember what was said about classics! The weather is nice outside so enjoy it while you can. You could take a walk around the block a few times and get roughly the same amount of exercise, but where is the adventurous spirit in that? A hike in the wild is good for reflection and a peaceful place to toke.
Separating from the urban and suburban settings many live in can help people disconnect, even if for just a few hours, and reminds us how many of our problems aren’t as big as we think. Feeling even some of your worries melt away is priceless! The Mines of Spain are beautiful this time of year and filled with enough trails to burn through more than one day. If you are looking for more of a quick hike, a march out to either of the points at Chestnut Mountain Resort provides some of the most breathtaking views of the Mississippi River you can find. RiverBluff suggests an Apple Tart pre-roll for your journey.
Camping
Camping is just extreme hiking! Disconnecting for a little bit can melt worries away but being disconnected for a long duration can do wonders for your confidence. Leaving the house knowing you will have to find a place to sleep & make food without modern luxuries, all while carrying everything you will need on your back, is a humbling experience. No better time to uplift the situation than by lighting up! Whether choosing a traditional campsite or just hiking and suddenly deciding you’ve found a good place to set up camp for the night, nothing beats looking up at the stars before falling asleep and wondering what else is out there. That’s right! You transition right from hiking into camping into thinking about aliens. A joint will be necessary. Most of the cool campgrounds are on the banks of the Mississippi so they can only be used when the water level is down. That puts them out of commission a lot, but if you get a weekend, they are open! Check out Miller Riverview Park & Campground,Frentress Marina and Resort, or choose one you like from this list. Luckily, most of us know someone with a yard and every yard can be a campground when motivated! It is extended hiking so bring multiple Apple Tart pre-rolls!
Float On a River or Lake
Hiking and camping both involve a lot of walking in extreme heat. Not everyone is down for that, so why not do the complete opposite? Outside to beat the heat on or in the water is the best place to be. Floating on water, stoned, relaxing in the sun, is a very freeing experience as the water pulls you along. This is the cheapest, lowest effort option available on RiverBluff’s list. Get an innertube, floaties, or any other inflatable object and find water. You’ll be floating and relaxing with a cannabis pre-roll in your mouth in no time at all. Remember, wear a lifejacket people! There are rivers, lakes, ponds, and streams everywhere including one of the largest rivers in the world right outside East Dubuque. If you don’t pack a Cereal Milk preroll, you might just be fruit loops.
Find A Weird Spot to Chill
Ditch your comfort zone and go people watching someplace weird! One of the best parts about this planet is no matter where you are there is someplace weird nearby. Most people go to the normal sites, so you see the same type of people you always see, and they are always crowded with normies. You’ll meet interesting people in weird places almost without fail. If you want to venture slightly out of state, The House on the Rock is absolutely amazing! A cavalcade of oddities and mysterious items, it served as one of the settings for Neil Gaiman’s bestselling novel, American Gods.If that doesn’t trip your fancy, just google strange places and take your pick. The Mathias Ham House isn’t as weird but it is creepy which is just as good. Not many places stranger than Hollywood, so you had best pack an LA Kush Cake pre-roll for your adventure.
Get Lost in a Museum
As the temperatures rise you may be in search of air conditioning! You know who has this? Museums! Do you want to take a good hike in a nice temperature-controlled room? The places are huge. Want to see the stars? A lot of them have a room for that specific purpose. You don’t need to get wet to stay cool when air conditioning exists! You want to see weird and strange things? That is exclusively what museums show off. Get lit and get lost in a museum. Burn some calories, stay cool without getting wet, and learn about something you wouldn’t have before. No better place in the area than National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium! If you’re spending the day inside to chill out, start it off with a Sundae Driver pre-roll.
